As guidelines change and BC gradually reopens, David and Cindy are looking forward to offering a hybrid version of counselling services: as of September 2021, clients will be able to continue with phone and/or video sessions; they may also attend in-person sessions (afternoons and early evening only). Your counsellor will discuss options with you when you request an appointment.
We all share the desire to be our true selves, and to lead meaningful lives in which we experience a sense of love, belonging, purpose, and peace. On your journey toward personal growth and well-being, you may face obstacles that are difficult to make sense of on your own. You may feel "stuck," and unable to become the person you'd like to be. We see the counselling process as a means of facilitating positive change for life. As counsellors, the relationship we share with each client is collaborative and meant to enable individuals to take responsibility for their own growth. To this end, counselling sessions are goal-oriented and solution-focused, while taking place in the context of a safe and supportive relationship. Counselling addresses emotions, thinking, behaviours, and recent developments in brain science, in order to promote change that is holistic, life-changing, and life-long.
Through counselling, as you become more self-aware and self-accepting, and learn how to relate to others constructively and assertively, you will experience life in a more positive and deeply meaningful way.
